ASCLS-Kansas is once again looking for individuals interested in participating and playing a larger role in our organization. Elections for the available positions will be held in April. All nominations must be made before the March 01, 2020 deadline.

We are currently looking to fill the following positions, click each position for more information:

 

Treasurer (2 Year Term)
Member of the Board of Directors (2 Year Term)
3 Representatives At Large (1 Year Term)

Treasurer (2 Year Term)

Qualifications: Professional or emeritus member of ASCLS for at least three consecutive years immediately prior to appointment and shall have served on the Board of Directors or a Committee of ASCLS-Kansas and have attended at least four meetings of the Board of Directors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve on the Board of Directors
  • Attend all meetings of the Board of Directors and ASCLS-Kansas
  • Collect, receive, and accurately record and have charge of all funds of ASCLS-Kansas, except the transactions delegated to the Annual Meeting Committee
  • Deposit funds as designated by the Board of Directors
  • Obtain new signature cards for ASCLS-Kansas banking activities, as required
  • Submit a complete listing of the financial holdings with account numbers, signers, and maturity dates to the President by September 1 of each year
  • Copy to Resident Agent
  • Submit a current income statement at each meeting of the Board of Directors
  • Serve on the Board of Directors
  • Attend all meetings of the Board of Directors and ASCLS-Kansas

Member of the Board of Directors (3 or 2 Year Term)

Qualifications: Professional or emeritus member of ASCLS for at least one year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve on the Board of Directors
  • Attend all meetings of the Board of Directors and ASCLS-Kansas
  • Submit written reports of substantive activities
  • Be vested with all property and funds
  • Control and manage the affairs of ASCLS-Kansas
  • Conduct business between regular meetings of the membership under regulations of the Bylaws and SOPs
  • Appoint and fill vacancies in offices
  • Establish times and places of regular and special Board of Directors meetings
  • Determine duties of officers when not specified by the Bylaws
  • Approve presidential appointments
  • Approve presidential appointments
  • Recommend an annual budget to the membership
  • Establish Committees, as appropriate
  • Establish and review all procedures for the financial transactions of ASCLS-Kansas
  • Authorize signing of contracts and agreements, including those for the Annual Meeting
  • Serve as Board of Directors liaison or on task forces as directed
  • Comply with the policies and procedures of the ASCLS-Kansas Board of Directors and ASCLS-Kansas
  • Support the purposes, goals, and on-going activities of ASCLS-Kansas

Representative At Large (1 Year Term)

Qualifications: Professional or emeritus member of ASCLS who is not an officer or other elected representative of ASCLS-Kansas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve on the Nominations Committee
  • Represent ASCLS-Kansas
  • Serve as liaison from ASCLS-Kansas to local societies and individual members
  • Encourage activities for clinical laboratorians
  • Keep records of members’ participation in ASCLS-Kansas to assist in qualifying candidates for office
  • Solicit qualified candidates for offices
  • Receive and be responsible for funds obtained to conduct business, Board of Directors approval is required
  • Attend Leadership meetings as invited by the President
  • Submit written reports of substantive activities
  • Comply with the policies and procedures of ASCLS-Kansas
  • Support the purposes, goals, and on-going activities of ASCLS-Kansas
  • Actively participate in member recruitment and retention
  • Transfer files of the office to successor in a timely manner
